A collection of pebbles and wood to create Beach Art

We are very lucky to live so close to the beach so have access to pebbles, drift wood, sea shells and sea glass. But if you don’t have a beach nearby you can may have some pebbles in your garden or outside space that you can use for art.

A layout of beach art on the table

I have bought some picture frames from an online retailer. I’ve deconstructed them to be able to paint the backboards in left over matt interior paint that I found in the garage.

I have then started to layout some design ideas on the unpainted backboards, you can change them as many times as you like until you are happy without worrying that you will mark the paintwork this way.

I have taken inspiration from Pinterest and then created my own pebble art. It’s lovely as you start to see characters emerging and you add little eyes and start to create family groups that may or may not represent people that you know!

Once you are happy with your design, you can then start to stick the eyes to the pebbles and the pebbles to the backboard. I’ve used super glue and wood glue. Make sure that the glue has set before you move your pebble art.

You can then replace the frame and you have your very own pebble art that can be displayed on the wall or on a shelf.

Here are some that I have created using shells, sea glass, drift wood and pebbles.

You can attach black cotton thread to create a bird on the wire picture. I have used garden twine to create the ropes for the swing.

I hope you enjoy creating your own pebble art, I love doing it and find it really therapeutic, I hope you do too.
