Onesie Love Story Winner - Carol's Story

Posted on: 05/03/2020

As February was the month of love, we wanted to hear your Onesie Love Stories for last month's OnesieTime Competition.

We've received lots of lovely stories about how how much you love your Onesies, and we're excited to announce that the winner f our Onesie Love Story Competition is... Carol!

"Hi,

I've attached a photo of me wearing my new onesie when I competed in the recent International Winter Swimming Championships in Lake Bled, Slovenia.  I didn't win any medals but my onesie sure got a lot of attention.

I am an open water swimmer and I was inspired to get a Create-your-Own Onesie as someone I swim with had one bought for him for his birthday by his wife last year.  The fact that I was able to choose the colour and fabric was inspiring, and you will note that I have mermaid material on the sleeves and hood.

A group of us from my club, Henley Open Water Swimming Club, attended the swim event in Slovenia at the beginning of February and I was so happy that my onesie arrived in time for me to pack and take with me.  I love the fact that it has my name on it, the initials of my swimming club and the St George cross.  As this was an international swim meet, it made me stand out and I love that it is easy to pull on after a cold swim and is lovely and soft and warm.  Many swimmers use onesies after their swims but mine is the most unique by far!

I will most certainly be wearing it throughout the cold winter months after my weekly swims in the River Thames, especially when the water temperature drops to 1-2 degrees C.  It will also be accompanying me to Wales and Ireland over the next few months on more swim trips, but may be a little too warm to take to the Barbados Open Water Swim Festival in November!
