Fiji Onesie Adventures

We love hearing all about your Onesie Adventures and we've received a brilliant Onesie Adventure story from one of our customers and we couldn't wait to share it with you all!

"In my job as a Travel Agent, I get some wonderful opportunities to see some brilliant destinations both domestically within Australia and also International. Early in March, I was lucky enough to take a trip to nearby Fiji, located in the South Pacific. A short 4 hour flight from Australia’s East Coast makes it the perfect holiday destination.

Fiji sports a population of just under 900,000 and is most famous for its Fiji Rugby Sevens side who dominate world Rugby Sevens. Fiji is made up of 333 islands with the island of Viti Levu being the “mainland”. Suva is its capital city.

It was the evening of Thursday March 8th that I get set to take off from Melbourne and head into the tropical paradise that is Fiji. Naturally, I could not help myself and a onesie had to come with me. We all know what such good travel companions Onesies are. Especially our All-in-One Company Onesies.

So after packing it was out to Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport for my Fiji Airways flight to Nadi.

After the 4 hour flight it was a 5:30 am arrival into Nadi International Airport and the first three nights at the Sheraton Denerau Resort. An early arrival and check in at the hotel I am greeted to my own King Room and guess who couldn’t wait to stretch out and make itself at home..

After some rest and relaxation, it was off to the first of many functions for the week. We are treated to some wonderful Fijian hospitality, The Meke and traditional fire dancing.

After a weekend of conferencing and watching presentations from the local hotel suppliers and tour operators, it was off to the Mamanauca Islands for the next 4 nights. This is Fiji at its best.
Our small group loads onto a water taxi plus bags out to our first stop…. Tropica Island Resort.

Tropica Island Resort being an “Adults Only” resort is ideal for some peace and quiet. The Fijians call the bungalows “Bure (pronounced boo-rey). A lovely Bure greeted me at Tropica Island complete with plunge pool and outdoor shower.

The plunge pool did of course provide a great location for a rather amateur Onesie Photoshoot!! Thankfully I did this quite early in the morning, so the heat and humidity had not kicked in yet.
Tropica Island provided some lovely rest and relaxation time by the pool and a drink was always at the ready.

As we only had 1 night at each island resort, our time at Tropica finished way too soon. Tuesday, we are off to Plantation Island Resort. Plantation Island is very much a family friendly resort with brilliant facilities for youngsters. The complimentary Kids Club will keep your kids occupied from morning to night.
Upon arrival at Plantation Island, we where treated to a traditional Fijian Kava ceremony.

Our dinner tonight was hosted by the next door resort, Lomani. Lomani is an adults only retreat where kids are not allowed. Tonight, I was lucky enough to enjoy one of the nicest meals of Crab ever. It was divine.
Some of the local brew went down rather nicely too I might add.

So our little stay at Plantation was over, and it was off to nearby Musket Cove for Wednesday night.
Musket Cove is more adult friendly, yet kids are allowed. A lovely pool, white sand beach and a sunset to die for, Musket Cove really was a hit. I know Onesie was really pleased with Musket Cove.
The local staff where always ready for a photo haha..

Our final night in Fiji was at the famous Castaway Island Resort. A 20 minute water taxi ride over to Castaway had us arriving just on lunchtime and straight to lunch we went. A lovely 4.5 star resort with all the facilities you could dream of. Water sports, bars, dining, pools, snorkelling and even a trip out to Monuriki Island - home to where the film Castaway featuring Tom Hanks was filmed. I was lucky enough to visit Monuriki Island the morning of our last day.

Onesie just wanted to hang around and relax. Onesie did of course come home and is still catching up on sleep haha.
So our time in Fiji was done and just about dusted.. What a lovely visit it was and I cant thank our industry partners, Tourism Fiji for their excellent work in putting this together. So we leave Castaway Island to head back to Nadi for our flight home back to Melbourne.

So I hope this gives you all a little snippet of what wonderful holiday destinations we have down here in this part of the world.
So as I say at the end of these… May your onesie adventures take you somewhere unknown. You wont regret it.
Much love always,
Phillip xo"
