Who made your Clothes? Faye

Faye Robinson is the newest member of The All-in-One Company Team. She'll be completing 3 months of work experience during her Fashion Design and Marketing Degree at Northumbria Uni.

'Growing up I always knew I wanted to work within the creative industry. Whilst my friends chose English and Science as GCSE subjects, I could not wait to jump onto a sewing machine in the textiles room. Creating my very first garment confirmed my passion for fashion and designing.

In 2012, I attended Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) and studied a BTEC Extended Diploma in Fashion Design with Textiles. I was lucky enough to be taught by some amazing tutors; they had years of industry experience and I could not thank them enough for all their help!

Whilst studying at CCAD, I learnt how to use a range of Adobe software’s, pattern cut, design and sew using an industrial machine. After many tears and lots of laughter the two years were all over and I qualified with DDD*. The hard work had finally paid off and everything I thought was impossible proved not to be!

Knowing I wanted to continue studying fashion, I applied for Northumbria University. Northumbria have a compulsory industry placement year which I thought would be a challenge as well as gaining vital experience for me in future. Fashion Design with Marketing have a range of subjects including design, sewing, photography and researching, so I was open minded in which area I wanted to look into further. Now nearly 2 years down the line, here I am... starting my internship at The- All- In- One-Company. The staff have made me feel extremely welcome within their team and I am currently working alongside them on an exciting new adventure.
