Phillip's Onesie Adventure - Part 11

Onesies Around the World Part 11   Arriving into Minneapolis about 4pm I arrive at the Minneapolis Marriott Hotel located in the downtown area. Was bit of a nightmare getting into town, I suddenly notice that Minneapolis drivers are  MAD!!! Had to have full concentration negotiating my way off the freeway and into the hotel. But all was good, I arrived safely. Tonight, I went to Target Field to watch the first of a few Major League Baseball games… This one was the Minnesota Twins v Detroit Tigers. A nice clear night, but it was COLD…. Very COLD!!! Onesies were the most fitting attire for this game of baseball…  I had a couple of Budweisers and a hot dog or two to fill what was a rather empty stomach. For the record, the Tigers won 10 - 6 in front of 28,000 fans. The next day (Saturday), it was off to what has to be said is the biggest shopping mall in definitely the Northern Hemisphere and perhaps the world… Mall Of America. Oh my God this place is insane. Multiple levels of shopping, complete with a theme park for children featuring Spongebob Square Pants and other Nickelodeon based cartoons. Oh did I mention they even had roller coasters? Yep in a shopping mall!! Insane!!!! Tonight I checked out another Man v Food venue, this time the Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit German restaurant and bar was the host. I had a massive feed of sausage, chicken schnitzel, potato, veggies and of course it wouldn’t be german without a beer!! I was not disappointed with tonights choice of food… The next day was a day where I have not seen rain like what I saw today. Thunderstorms rolled over the Minneapolis/St Paul area about mid afternoon after quite a humid morning. I was buying myself another suitcase to fit all my bits and pieces in.. Inside the Macy’s store I was in, all I could hear was a massive BANG!!! Yep thunder…. So I quickly made my purchase, got out to the car and in the 30 odd meters I had to walk, I got SOAKED!! Driving back to my hotel in the driving rain and freezing temperatures it was a night to snuggle down to bed in my onesies and keep warm. Although I was in a high rise hotel, you could still feel the cold through the closed window. This gave me a chance to re-pack my bags and do some organising. I can’t recall how many times I re-organised my gear while on tour. Onesies Around the World Part 11 So after Minneapolis it was now into Wisconsin and Green Bay. Just a 2 night stop in Green Bay and this was primarily to see the home of the Green Bay Packers (Lambeau Field). I took a tour of the stadium with some other people and it was nice to see the history behind the packers. Green Bay also played host to me eating, i'd say, the biggest and most delicious pancakes EVER… Choc-chip, with raspberry, blueberry, cream and ice cream… Ohhhh yuuuuuummmm… Lets just say I didn’t eat for a number of hours after this. As it was Pancake Tuesday yesterday, I thought I should give it a mention... After Green Bay it was time to head south alongside the shores of Lake Michigan through Milwaukee into Illinois and the next 4 nights would see me in Chicago.
