Phillip's Onesie Adventure -- Part 5

Onesies Around The World Part 5     Terminal 5 at London’s Heathrow Airport… OH MY GOD!!! This place is INSANE… Just 1 part of the airport takes up the whole Melbourne Airport.. Its INSANE!!! But I loved it… Concorde Lounge was superb, the tea was lovely and the food fantastic. So after some luxuriating in the lounge it was off to Terminal 5 Satellite B to board my flight BA195 to Houston, Texas. A Boeing 747 will be my aircraft taking me across to the USA today. A 10am departure (and on-time) has me arriving into Houston International Airport soon after 2pm local time. Flying time… 10 hrs. First Class again… It was ok, but nothing like the Qantas First Class on the A380.. Sorry my British friends, but the Aussie Airline won that battle.. A smooth flight over, with very friendly and astute cabin crew who did everything to make the flight as comfortable as possible. As I had a chance to get some rest, I packed one of my onesies in my cabin luggage, and soon after take off it was into my onesie for the flight. Now this is COMFORT!!! Landing at Houston on time, however OH MY GOD… The lines for Customs was HORRENDOUS!!! it took 1 hour to even get to the counter to be processed. Once I got to the front, it was stamp the passport and I was in… My car rental was waiting for me just off the airport, so it was into the shuttle and off to Alamo to collect the car. Hot tip!! USE ALAMO for Car rental in the States, they are awesome!! As I drive an SUV here in Australia, I had ordered something similar.. I drive a Holden Captiva here, so I had a similar car in the USA, a Chevy Equinox. Great to drive and no problems. I settle into the car, and I go to set up the GPS… Stupid me guess what??? I forgot to load the USA maps into the GPS… So I had to drive blind around Houston to find my hotel.. LUCKILY on my hotel vouchers I had a mini street map and as I was just off one of the major freeways, it was found relatively easily… Arriving into my hotel approx 3:30 - 4pm it was into my room… LOADING THE USA MAPS and then back into a onesie for a rest. I was tired!!! I'm now on the road for 1 month of this epic trip, still 2 months to go and the real road trip begins.. Stay tuned to see where the road trip takes me as the World Adventure continues...
