Phillip’s Onesie Adventure - Part 4

Onesies Around the World Part 4   Thick fog greeted me the morning of my departure from Edinburgh back down into Mother England. Is Scotland trying to tell me not to leave? Sadly, I had to as I had many more wonderful places to visit over the next couple of months… After some breakfast, I loaded the car up and off I went… Heading south back into England. The fog was so thick, I could not see 20 meters in front of me.. It was horrendous. So I ploughed along, albeit slowly. This part of my trip was about the only time I really kicked myself.. If I had have stayed just 1 more night in Edinburgh, I would have been able to call in and see our dear friends, Kate, Rachel, Becky and all the gang of The All In One Company®.. I was driving literally right past their front door on a SUNDAY… It would have been so nice to be able to call in and say hello and yep, BUY MORE ONESIES!!! As the fog continues to roll in, I stopped at old faithful Toby’s Carvery to get some lunch at Newcastle.. Cant beat this place.. I think it was 10-15 pounds for a roast meal.. All freshly cooked food and yorkshire pudding the size of a baseball glove. I LOVE YORKSHIRE PUD!! Stopping tonight in Leeds, just a 1 night stop as I make my way back to London. Nothing special in Leeds, just a place to put the head down and get some shut-eye. Arriving back into London later the next day, I stayed with an old friend for a couple of nights in Essex.. When travelling, its so nice to stay in a home for a few nights… Gave me a chance to catch up on sleep, catch up on old times, catch up on WASHING!!!! I refuse to pay £10 for a hotel to wash a pair of socks! 3 nights with my friend then it was into London for the finale of my UK part of the journey… Arriving into London mid afternoon and checking into my accommodation just near Vauxhall station.. No it wasn’t a backpackers, but the Park Plaza Riverbank. A 5 star property. So I had 2 days to do the ultimate whip around central London… Recapping Buckingham Palace, The Shard, Tower Bridge, Walkie Talkie, The Thames, and places I will no doubt forget to mention. But I did a tonne of stuff in that last day and a bit… So I now say farewell to London and the United Kingdom.. Once again, you have shown me so much. I always feel very fulfilled when I come to the old dart. I feel quite at home. The connection between the UK and Australia is so strong and the history goes back to when Australia was settled in 1788 by Captain Arthur Philips First Fleet. Our connection with the Monarchy also makes me feel very satisfied that being apart of The Commonwealth is the way to go. So the morning of May 1st, bags packed, onesies packed.. it was back out to Heathrow Airport to drop the car off, head to the last great attraction of London… TERMINAL 5. Check in occurred once I arrived into Terminal 5. I make my way to the British Airways First Class Check In counters and my bags are tagged and my boarding pass issued for flight BA195 London Heathrow to Houston Texas. I collected my boarding pass and into the Concorde Lounge I go to have some breakfast, a facial and some rest and relaxation before the 10hr flight to Houston... To be continued....
