Onesie 4th of July

Onesie Independence - Celebrate in Style! The 4th of July is a federal holiday celebrating the Deceleration of Independence in the USA. The Deceleration of Independence, which happened on the 4th July 1776, declared independence from the United Kingdom - which was then known as the Kingdom of Great Britain. Many Americans  celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks, parades, barbecues. carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games and family reunions. Political speeches and ceremonies often take place too. Independence Day celebrations often take place outdoors. Many politicians  appear at a public event to praise the nation's heritage, laws, history, society, and people.Families often celebrate Independence Day by hosting or attending a picnic or barbecue and take advantage of the day off and, in some years, long weekend to gather with relatives.Of course, there are tons of decorations such as; streamers, balloons (and even clothing). They are generally coloured red, white, and blue, because of the colours on the American flag. Parades are often in the morning, while fireworks displays occur in the evening at such places as parks, fairgrounds, or town squares. In New England, towns compete to build towering pyramids made from  hogsheads and barrels and casks, and they are often lit the night before the 4th of July.On Independence Day at noon, any capable military base fires a salute of one gun for each state in the United States. This is called a  “salute to the union.”In 2009, New York City had the largest fireworks display in the country, with over 22 tons of pyrotechnics exploded. Other big firework displays include Lake Michigan in Chicago, Mission Bay in San Diego; in Boston on the Charles River, the Mississippi River  in St. Louis; the San Francisco Bay in San Francisco; and on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Did you know that during the annual Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival, Detroit, Michigan hosts one of the world's largest fireworks displays?!That's right, the fireworks display is held over the Detroit River, to celebrate Independence Day in partnership with Windsor, Ontario's celebration of Canada Day.
