Onesie Inspiration!

We received an email from a very inspirational lady, named Penny. Penny will be completing the Ironman Triathlon in Kona this year. Ever since Penny spotted the Ironman maps on the wall of the office, it started a fire. Penny had a burning desire to complete the Ironman triathlon. A few months later she drove three hours from home to sit on the shores of Lake Taupo to absorb the event, watching the determined runners become shufflers as they crossed the finish line... That was the moment she became hooked. Over the next year, Penny spent her time researching and interviewing coaches. Realising there were more disciplines to an Ironman than just a run, bike and swim, that she got advice from a nutritionist and sports physiologist. Nine years later, after 16 attempts at qualifying and one legacy spot later, she will face the big island that empowered her. Joined by her best friend and boyfriend, Penny will start her journey to the finish line of a dream that has consumed her for nine years. The triathlon will take place in Kona, Hawaii, USA, on 11th October 2014. It consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run, completed in that order - without a break! Most Ironman events have a strict time of 17 hours to complete the race. The most recent Ironman World Championship took place on October 12, 2013 and was won by Frederik Van Lierde of Belgium in 8:12:29 and Mirinda Carfrae of Australia in 8:52:14.The Hawaiian Ironman is still regarded as an honoured and impressive triathlon event to win worldwide! To match her logo being  sprayed on her bike, helmet, race kit and underpants for the undie run, Penny requested that we make her a onesiefor the triathlon. She asked for a white onesie, complete with Pink and Red trim, along with her logo on the front and back... Of course our wonderful development team got together and came up with a beautiful onesie design! We wish Penny and her best friend all the luck in the world with their almighty task of completing the Ironman Triathlon - It just goes to show that you can do anything you put your mind to, don't give up on your dreams!
