Onesie Support British Manufacture

Onesie Event: Make it British - Meet the Manufacturer. We are delighted to announce that Kate, our Director, will be speaking at the Make it British - Meet the Manufacturer event in June. It is the first event specifically for British manufacturers of clothing, textiles and leather goods. UK factories, designers and buyers will have the opportunity to network together under one roof. The event consists of a two-day conference with leading speakers with inspiring talks about how they have made UK manufacturing work for them. On day one, the one and only, Mary Portas, will open the conference with her thoughts on bringing UK fashion and textile manufacturing back home. Mary will then be followed by a line-up of speakers from businesses all around the UK discussing what the words ‘Made in Britain’ mean to them, the challenges created by the skills gap in UK apparel manufacturing. And the challenges and opportunities of ‘Making it British’. Day two is the one we're really excited about! Ian Maclean will kick off the day, sharing why he believes that a Second Indutrial revolution is on its way. Next up will be a line-up of speakers discussing 'What makes a great British brand?' they believe that a ‘Made in Britain’ label can help sales here and abroad.  And sharing her thoughts on why manufacturing her eponymous label in the UK was the only way to go, journalist Eve Pollard OBE, from Eve Pollard Designs. Now for the most exciting part! Daniel Harris and (our) Kate Dawson will talk about their experience of setting up their own factories in order to build their own brands. A panel of UK factory owners and designers will end the day with a discussion on how to get the most from working with UK manufacturers. No one even really knows how many businesses there are left still manufacturing in the UK any more, and that's why we are honoured to be able to speak at this event a long with all the other inspirational speakers such as Daniel Harris, designer & weaver, The London Cloth Company.  The London Cloth Company came about when Daniel got his hands on a rusting loom that he found in an old barn in Wales. Although he had no training - or knowledge of weaving, Daniel learnt has he went along after he started dismantling machines that hadn't been touched in over 30 years, he started familiarising himself with all the different parts. Within the next year Daniel had acquired two further looms, two pern winders and a warping mill. His collection has been growing ever since, and The London Cloth Company came to life. There will also be speakers from big companies such as Mulberry, and ASOS.com, and not to mention; Threads London Limited, Globe-Trotter Leather Co, Holland & Sherry, Draw in Light , Private White V.C., Young British Designers, Albam Clothing, Eve Pollard Designs, Joseph Cheaney & Sons, The Great British Banjo Company, Creative Skillset , Roland Mouret, Gaddum and Gaddum, Fashion Enter, Grey Fox Blog, Bridgwater College, John Smedley, Manufacturing Advisory Service, Lutwyche Holdings - each with their own personal and inspirational story. Here at The All-in-One Company we have always supported British manufacturing.  We're proud to be able to say that we are 100% British when it comes to manufacturing, all our fabrics are purchased  in the UK, and all of our onesies are handmade here, in Northumberland.
