North firm's sleep suit keeps One Direction warm

SAFE from the big freeze X Factor hopeful Liam Payne had no need to feel the cold thanks to a North clothes company.

The singer, who has been busy establishing himself as boy band One Direction’s lead vocalist, was snapped wearing a sleep suit made by Ashington-based firm the All-In-One Company, along with Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.

The suits, likened to giant baby grows for adults, have quickly been growing in popularity, since they were first created by Northumberland designer Kate Dawson.

The company was delighted when they were asked to make bespoke outfits for each of this year’s X Factor contestants and judges.

The winter-warmers proved such a hit when they were delivered to studios in London, Liam, 16, kept his camouflage-print suit on for rehearsals and refused to take it off for the rest of the day.

Kate’s Northumberland factory makes adult-sized sleeping suits and allows online customers to create their own from different coloured fleece fabrics.

Her team was delighted to hear how well the outfits had gone down.

She said: “What we did for One Direction was a selection of camouflage fleeces, because of the Help For Heroes song they’ve done for charity.

“They spent the whole day on Monday wearing them, and I had an email from a lady in the production team saying the contestants absolutely loved them.”

Kate and her team took the time to come up with unique a design for each contestant.

For Wagner it was in the green, gold and royal blue of the Brazilian flag, while the girls each got an animal print suit.

Cher had tiger print, Rebecca got zebra and Katie Waissel had leopard, before she left.

Matt had navy with red stars, “because he’s our star,” said Kate, and the judges had cuddle fleeces with Louis’ in emerald green with a shamrock above his name instead of the star.

And while the winter blizzards have hit the region hard the snow storms have helped create a boom for the All-In-One Company.

Orders to the company have tripled or even quadrupled and Kate and her team are shipping out 500 suits a week
