Heel & Toe Onesie Walk!
A couple of weeks ago, we received an email from a lovely lady named Mandy, the Fundraising Officer for the charity Heel & Toe.
Mandy informed us that they would be holding their annual Onesie Walk on May 2nd 2016, and wondered if we'd be kind enough to donate a prize.
Heel & Toe was established to help children with cerebral palsy and any other movement condition, by providing free Conductive Education Therapy. In 2009, the Durham based company extended their service to help children with dyspraxia.
Cerebral Palsy in the UK
-Affects 3 babies in every 1000.
-Can affect movement, eating, speech, comprehension and perception.
-Occurs as a result of injury to the brain.
-Is permanent but not unchanging.
Heel & Toe's sessions help:
-Improve and maintain mobility
-Improve and maintain joint range of motion
-Develop Muscle, strength and endurance
-Promote good postural management
-Build self-esteem and confidence
-Improve social skills
Patrons of the charity include Anne Wood CBE, Creator of children's favourites Teletubbies, Rosie & Jim and In the Night Garden, and Stu & Kelly from Metro Radio (who have also been seen wearing our onesies!)
We offered Mandy a £100 Gift Voucher so the winner could Create their Own Onesie, and Harrison Rhys Jones was the lucky winner! We can't wait to see what he creates with his Gift Voucher!
The brilliant thing about our onesies are that they are made to measure, so if you have any special design requirements to make your child feel more comfortable, then all you need to do is let us know in the order instructions box at the checkout.
