This month, we'll be taking part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. The Big Garden Birdwatch will be taking place over the weekend of 30-31 January 2016. All you need to do is choose just one hour over the weekend and see which birds come into your garden (or local park). Each year hundreds of thousands of people (over half a million to be exact)  take part, giving the RSPB an idea of how the birds in th UK are doing. The more people that take part, the more accurate the results will be, helping the RSPB to spot the problems and find ways of putting them right. The Big Garden Birdwatch all started as a children's activity in 1979, which means that the RSPB have collected 36 years of records for their scientists to analyse! The more people that take part - the better. The records are compared year-on-year, so every single response is vitally important. This year, you can be a part of it! All you need to do is tell the RSPB what you see via their website (there's also lots of fun facts and top tips to read too!) Birdwatching is a brilliant hobby. Not only do you get to see the wonderful wildlife, but it's a chance to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.
