Onesie Remembrance Reds

Fabric of the Week

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.'

Ode of Remembrance

In honour of Remembrance Day, we've put together all of our Red fabrics. Remembrance Day, sometimes known as Poppy Day, is a memorial day, celebrated in commonwealth countries since the end of World War 1 to remember all the members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty. The red poppy has become an emblem of remembrance day after poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War 1. On November 11, ceremonies are held at local war memorials usually organised by local branches of the Royal British Legion, an association for ex-servicemen. Poppy wreaths are often laid by representatives of the Crown, the armed forces, and local civic leaders, as well as by local organisations including ex-servicemen organisations, cadet forces, the Scouts, Guides, Boys' Brigade, St John Ambulance and the Salvation Army. At 11:00am on the eleventh day of the eleventh month,  firing of an artillery piece marks the start and end of a 2-minute silence. The two minute silence takes place all across the UK, in homes, schools, supermarkets, businesses and even on the radio.   Fabric of the Week
